OREANDA-NEWS Telegram received a preliminary estimate of "$30 billion or more" from investors, Pavel Durov, the founder and owner of the messenger, said in an interview with the Financial Times.

The amount, he said, was announced by potential investors, including technology funds, who want to buy the company. At the same time, Durov ruled out the sale of the asset in the current conditions, noting its impossibility during the discussion of a potential IPO.

The initial public offering of shares is scheduled for 2025, RBC wrote earlier. Now the owner has called the planned procedure "a means to democratize access to the value of Telegram."

As Durov explained, Telegram's revenue after the introduction of premium accounts and the launch of advertising amounts to "hundreds of millions of dollars," and in the current or next year the messenger may become profitable.
