OREANDA-NEWS. Officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia killed two militants of the international terrorist group Katibat Tawhid wal Jihad (banned in the country), who were planning terrorist attacks in the city of Volgograd. This was reported in the Center for Public Relations of the FSB.

According to its message, the extremists’ activities were coordinated from the Syrian Arab Republic. They planned to organize terrorist attacks in the buildings of state authorities, in the places of residence of servicemen and at explosive and fire hazardous enterprises.

“During the arrest, the chieftain and his accomplice, who were trying to extract the means of terror from a cache previously equipped in Volgograd, put up armed resistance to the FSB of Russia; as a result, they were neutralized,” the Center for Public Relations informed.
