OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine will propose to the government of the country to introduce strict quarantine from the beginning of January for a period of three weeks. This was announced on December 4 by the head of the Ministry, Maksym Stepanov.

“We can assert that our medical system will fully withstand the load that exists now in connection with COVID. […] We will offer the government a planned strict quarantine starting from the first days of January. We believe that the duration of such quarantine, in order to achieve an effect, should be for three weeks,” the politician said. Stepanov also stressed that the Ministry of Healthcare does not recommend the introduction of strict quarantine until the end of December.

On November 19, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal allowed the introduction of a lockdown due to the wide spead of coronavirus. He noted that the country is waiting for a number of challenges related to the pandemic.
