OREANDA-NEWS. The increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection COVID-19 in Moscow is caused by a whole range of reasons, but above all the arrival of a new strain. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova in an interview with the TV channel "Russia 24".

"Of course, when such growth is always a complex of reasons. This is the lack of attention of the townspeople to the observance of safety measures, first of all, wearing masks, this is a low percentage of vaccinations. But of course, first of all, this is due to the fact that a new strain of the virus, another, "Indian" strain, - said Rakova.

About 90% of all new cases of COVID-19 in Moscow are associated with the Indian strain, said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of the Capital for Social Development.

"As it is already clear from experts, the Indian strain dominates in Moscow, 90% of all new cases of the disease are associated with this particular strain. According to experts, it is several times more infectious than the Wuhan strain," Rakova said in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel.

Currently, more than 70% of patients with coronavirus are treated at home in Moscow, Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, said on the Russia 24 TV channel.
