OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan conducted command and staff exercises in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea with the participation of ships of the naval forces, the border service of the National Security Committee for the Mangystau region and military aviation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry.

"Maneuvers at sea are aimed at improving the coordination and practical skills of managing units of the naval forces and the Department of the Border Guard service, increasing the combat readiness of personnel. They involved the rocket and artillery ships "Kazakhstan", "Saryarka", "Mangistau", the minesweeping ship "Alatau", the anti-sabotage boats "Sergek", "Kaysar" of the navy, ships and boats of the border service, military aviation," the message says.

It was noted that the total number of participants in the exercises exceeded 1 thousand people. The crews of the ships fulfilled the standards for the preparation and conduct of combat operations by naval forces in low-intensity conflicts.

"Within the framework of the exercises, issues related to the protection and defense of maritime economic activity in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea were worked out. Combat exercises and artillery firing at surface and air targets of the simulated enemy were carried out. Special attention was paid to interaction with other government bodies," said the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy.
