OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that he invited US President Donald Trump to publish correspondence between Moscow and Washington on the topic of interference in the elections attributed to the Russian Federation.

"I recalled that we invited the current US administration to publicize correspondence on a channel specially established in case of risks in cyberspace, correspondence that was carried out between Moscow and Washington from October 2016 to January 2017, from which it will become clear that we are ready to cooperate on any farrow that is connected with US suspicions of our interference in the election", Lavrov said following a visit to the United States.

The minister pointed out that the administration of the previous US President Barack Obama categorically refused to publish this correspondence. "If the current administration - I don’t know for what reason - refuses to make this correspondence public, what else can we offer?" - added the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
