A day earlier, the US State Department recommended that members of the families of civil servants leave Belarus due to a possible escalation of tension around Ukraine.
As the representative of the Belarusian department noted, the United States has the right to make such decisions.
“We look at it calmly. We will, as before, fulfill all our obligations to protect diplomatic missions, so that nothing threatens either American or any other diplomats here. According to many ratings, Belarus is a much safer and more hospitable country than the United States,” Glaz said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry believes that the American side "does not control the situation" in the region.
“The American side does not control the situation in our region. And lately he has been making decisions that are very far from reality, without a serious and objective assessment of the true state of affairs. They are based on a purely politicized approach and the desire in their own interests to artificially escalate the situation, provoke hysteria, ”Glaz added.
On January 31, the US State Department advised Americans not to travel to Belarus "due to the arbitrary application of the law, the threat of detention, and the unusual and worrying Russian military buildup along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border."
