OREANDA-NEWS.Russia has become a leader in the consume of wine imports from Georgia - in 2019 more than 25 million bottles were imported into the country, which is 6% more than in the same period of 2018. Due to this the Russian Federation ranked first in the world among importers of this type of alcoholic beverages. 

The second place in terms of imports was taken by Ukraine, which bought more than 3.7 million bottles. The third place went to China, followed by Poland and Kazakhstan. 

According to the agency, the largest increase - 120% - showed the import of Georgian wine to France. 

In the first half of the year, Georgia supplied 44 countries with more than 40.5 million bottles. The total cost of alcohol exceeded $ 98 million.
