OREANDA-NEWS Today, August 2, Russia is preparing to celebrate the Day of the Airborne Forces, celebrations, concerts and military demonstrations will be held throughout the country.

So, in Moscow this day will begin with the laying of flowers at the monument to the "father" of the unit Vasily Margelov on Khoroshevskoye Shosse, later the laying ceremony will be held on Suvorov Square at the monument to paratrooper soldiers.

Events will also be held at Novodevichy, Vostryakovsky, Troekurovsky, Kuntsevsky and Voskresensky cemeteries, where veterans of the Airborne Forces, as well as former commanders, are buried.

Later, in the center of Moscow on Krasnaya, a combined orchestra of the Airborne Forces will perform, demonstrations will take place, a ceremonial march, and after the parade on Vasilyevsky, there will be performances by creative teams of the Airborne Forces.

In addition, a festive concert will be held in Crocus City Hall with the participation of Honored Artist of Russia Denis Maidanov, the legendary Blue Berets group and the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Airborne Troops.

Vladivostok will be one of the first to celebrate the holiday, where the rally "Nobody but us" will be held, as well as a commemorative rally in honor of those who died during local wars and military conflicts. In the very "capital of the Airborne Forces" Ryazan there will be a prayer for the glory of the city, then laying flowers at the monument to Margelov, and military equipment and weapons of the unit’s fighters will be exhibited at the Spartak stadium, as well as demonstrations by paratroopers.
