Russian Ambassador to Cambodia Became the First Foreign Honorary Member of Royal Academy
“On the basis of Decree No. 1518 of the Government of Cambodia dated December 27, 2019, His Excellency Dmitry Tsvetkov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Cambodia, is appointed an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Cambodia”, said the president of the academy at a ceremony held on Monday in Phnom Penh.
In November 2019, the Russian ambassador was awarded the highest state award of the Kingdom of Cambodia for foreign citizens - the Sakhametrey Order of the 1st degree. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, who presented the order to the Russian diplomat, noted the Ambassador’s great personal contribution to strengthening the time-tested traditional friendship and multifaceted partnership between Phnom Penh and Moscow.
In 2016, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation was already awarded the Sakhametrey Order of the III degree for his services in developing Cambodian-Russian relations.
