OREANDA-NEWS. Russian businessman Boris Rotenberg lost a lawsuit against four Scandinavian banks. The billionaire accused them of violating service agreements due to the sanctions imposed by the United States of America.

The Helsinki District Court concluded that the credit organizations did not violate anything. According to the judges, there was no confirmation that Rotenberg is living in the European Economic Area. In his lawsuit, the businessman claimed that he had Finnish citizenship and therefore he should have equal rights with other citizens of the European Union.

The court also ordered Rotenberg to compensate for banks’ legal costs in the sum of 500 thousand euros.
