OREANDA-NEWS. Belarusian authorities have issued a registration certificate for Sputnik V, Russian vaccine against coronavirus of a new type. The developers have previously said that they are counting on accelerated registration of the drug in countries where there is contact with regulatory authorities.

“We can officially declare that, according to the available data, the vaccine is safe and effective, no serious or unexpected side effects have been identified,” Minister of Health of Belarus Dmitry Pinevich said. According to him, vaccination of citizens of Belarus will begin in January, as soon as the mediaction is allowed for sale and medical use.

“Belarus has become the first country to take part in foreign clinical trials of the vaccine Sputnik V, as well as the first state after Russia to officially register the vaccine,” Kirill Dmitriev, chief of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said.
