OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov claimed that the country’s economy loses about 1 billion roubles (about 15.6 million US dollars) per day because of a decrease in trade with China due to the coronavirus epidemic.

“The other day we talked with the customs service. Loss from the decline in trade with China is 1 billion roubles per day. These are the consequences of coronavirus,” the politician said. He recalled that China is Russia’s largest trading partner. Russia has already felt the impact of COVID-19, the Minister said. In particular, tourist flow from China has decreased. “This is money, this is hotels utilization, transport traffic, additional revenues in retail. Air carriers sound the alarm. Everyone is losing from this,” he explained.

At the same time, Siluanov is sure that coronavirus epidemic may have a negative impact on the Russian economy, but not decisive.
