OREANDA-NEWSThe government, amid the spread of coronavirus, limited from March 2 to June 1, 2020, the export from Russia of certain types of medical devices and equipment. The relevant resolution, which was signed on March 2 by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, doesn't apply to the export of masks and other medical devices by citizens for personal use.

"First of all, it is necessary to prevent the so-called artificial shortage of certain medical devices - masks, respirators, antiviral drugs that speculators can export abroad", the minister said. As previously reported, in Russia about 1.5 million medical masks are now produced daily.

An outbreak caused by the new coronavirus disease was recorded at the end of December 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized it as an epidemic with many foci and an emergency of international proportions. Outside of China, the most infected in South Korea, Iran and Italy. In total, cases of infection were detected in more than 70 countries, including Russia.
