OREANDA-NEWSImport of goods from non-CIS countries to Russia in January - February 2020 increased by 1.9% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $ 29.898 billion. Such statistics are cited by the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, in February of this year, imports grew by 8.9% compared to January and in value terms amounted to more than $ 15.586 billion. Relative to February 2019, imports from non-CIS countries remained virtually unchanged ($ 15.55 billion).

Thus, import of chemical products in February compared with January increased by 13.2% and amounted to $ 2.82 billion, engineering products - by 11.3%, up to $ 7.63 billion, food products and raw materials for their production - by 5, 3%, to $ 1.95 billion. Imports of textiles and shoes decreased by 2.5% and amounted to $ 1.083 billion.

According to the Federal Customs Service, import of aircraft increased by 3.5 times in machine-building products, vessels and floating equipment by 1.9 times, railway locomotives - by 12.4%, optical instruments and devices - by 8.4%, mechanical equipment - by 2.7%. Purchases of land transport and electrical equipment decreased by 12.8% and 2.4%, respectively.

Among chemical products, imports of perfumes and cosmetics increased by 8%. The import volumes of pharmaceutical products decreased by 34.7%, organic and inorganic chemistry products - by 6.9%, polymers and rubber - by 3.8%, soaps and synthetic detergents - by 3%.
