OREANDA-NEWS. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that the aircraft with humanitarian aid from Russia should arrive in the country on April 3.

“The arrival of doctors from Russia and humanitarian aid is expected tomorrow at about 11 a.m.,” the politician said at a meeting of the crisis headquarters for combating the coronavirus.

On March 27, it became known that the Serbian government turned to the Russian authorities for help in the fight the spread of COVID-19 infection. Belgrade requested humanitarian aid under an agreement between the two countries on cooperation in the sphere of emergency humanitarian support.

On April 2, the Kremlin’s press service reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Vucic and agreed to provide humanitarian assistance to Belgrade through the Russian Ministry of Defense.
