OREANDA-NEWS A Russian man aged 34 was found dead in the resort city of Pattaya in Thailand, the investigation suspects suicide, the Thai police department in Pattaya city told RIA Novosti on Monday.

The body of the Russian was accidentally found by local residents on Sunday in a small grove near the 9th soy (lane) of Thepprasit Street in the Jomtien district, police told the agency.

The situation at the scene and CCTV footage allowed the investigation to suspect suicide, the agency's interlocutor said.
"The body was discovered yesterday, according to the results of the initial examination, the time of death was in the early hours of the morning on March 10. The body has been sent for autopsy to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bangkok, we are still awaiting preliminary results," the police added.

The police also reported that video cameras recorded how a man walking on foot entered the grove at about 4 a.m. (8:00 Moscow time) on March 10, using his smartphone in flashlight mode, then left the grove, and then entered it again and did not appear in front of the cameras anymore.

The Pattaya City Police Department did not name the deceased to the agency, as the investigation is still ongoing, but confirmed that the deceased was identified as a 34-year-old Russian citizen who arrived in Thailand in January 2024. The investigation does not yet have information about what could have caused the man's death.
