OREANDA-NEWS. A student who opened fire in a Perm university was wounded by a police response fire, after which a law enforcement officer neutralized him and provided him with first aid, the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

"The first to arrive at the scene was the crew of the traffic police regiment of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Perm. Police junior lieutenant Konstantin Kalinin entered the main building, and his colleague senior police lieutenant Vladimir Makarov began to organize the evacuation of citizens. In the room Konstantin Kalinin saw an armed man. Noticing a policeman, he fired several shots in his direction. In return fire, the state traffic inspector wounded the attacker, ran up to him and neutralized him, after which he began to provide first aid, "said the spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk.

She clarified that now law enforcement officers control the territory of the university.

According to the UK, the student opened fire at the Perm State National Research University, eight people were killed, 28 ones were injured. The suspect resisted the police during the arrest and was wounded.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation clarified that the gunman at the Permk University, who was wounded, neutralized and detained by the police, is alive, now he is in the hospital.
