OREANDA-NEWS Turkish Airlines explained the frequent withdrawal of Russian tourists from their flights to South America. The reply letter to the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul lists the reasons for the non-admission to flights.

The carrier said that when organizing flights, it is guided by the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the conditions of the destination country. Such requirements may include the availability of a single booking number for round-trip flights, as well as confirmation of hotel reservations, the absence of differences between flight dates and hotel booking dates, the passenger's baggage in addition to hand luggage, the passenger's credit cards and cash, and so on.

"In case of non—compliance with the above requirements, the airline reportedly reserves the right to refuse the passenger transportation," the Consulate General of the Russian Federation added.

Earlier it was reported that additional checks are being carried out on Turkish Airlines flights to South America. In particular, the company reserved the right to refuse passengers with a "clean passport", as well as travelers who fly for a long time without luggage. According to some reports, in this way the carrier reduces its risks of forced deportation of passengers.
