OREANDA-NEWS. According to the website of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, on January 6, supporters of the non-canonical “new church” of Ukraine attempted to seize a temple in Ivano-Frankivsk Region.

Previously, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church repeatedly reported about oppression of clergy and the seizure of temples by representatives of non-canonical religious structures. “On Sunday, representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine continued raiding the temple in honor of all the reverends of Kiev Pechersk. […] Raiders also burst into the church house, where the refectory and Sunday school are located,” the publication on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Internet site says.

The Ivano-Frankivsk diocese asked local authorities and law enforcement agencies to intervene in the situation immediately.
