The US Federal Reserve System, which acts as the country’s central bank, announced on April 9 one more package of measures aimed at providing 2.3 trillion dollars of assistance to the economy affected by the coronavirus epidemic. They include loan programs for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as assistance to the authorities of the states and local governments.

“The Federal Reserve on Thursday took additional actions to provide up to $2.3 trillion in loans to support the economy. This funding will assist households and employers of all sizes and bolster the ability of state and local governments to deliver critical services during the coronavirus pandemic,” the statement of the Fed says.

According to recent data, in the United States, more than 432 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection have been recorded. Almost 15 thousand people died, almost 24 thousand recovered.
