OREANDA-NEWS. The World Health Organization (WHO) convenes a meeting of International Health Regulations Emergency Committee in Geneva on January 30 in connection with an outbreak of new type of coronavirus in China.

This is stated in the message of the organization’s Director General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, published on his Twitter page on January 29. “I have decided to reconvene the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee on the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) tomorrow to advise me on whether the current outbreak constitutes a public health emergency of international concern,” he wrote.

On 26 January, the head of WHO arrived in China to meet with the representatives of the government and medical experts who are involved in the fight against the infection.
