OREANDA-NEWS. Reuters reports that the World Health Organization (WHO) had launched an investigation into the activities of an international company that last month arranged a business meeting for its employees from around the world in Singapore.

Three residents of Malaysia and South Korea were infected with coronavirus from the participants in the meeting; four people from Singapore were hospitalized with suspected illness.

Media report that the conference was held on January 16 at the hotel Grand Hyatt in Singapore. It was visited by 94 foreign delegates, including three residents of China. One of the latter arrived from Wuhan, where a new type of coronavirus was first discovered. Grand Hyatt officials said they had disinfected the hotel immediately after reports from the Ministry of Health of Singapore. Neither WHO, nor Singapore authorities disclosed company’s name.
