OREANDA-NEWS. In a number of regions, health ministers announced massive layoffs of doctors and a shortage of personnel. In particular, in the village of Tishchenskoye, Stavropol Territory, there are only five employees left in the only polyclinic. The medical trade unions confirmed to Gazeta.Ru that many employees of medical institutions cannot withstand the intensity of work in a pandemic. As the physicians who quit themselves clarified, the lack of rest, low salaries, as well as fear for their lives and the health of loved ones pushed them to the decision to leave their jobs.

As the press service of the Perm Regional Trade Union of Healthcare Workers explained, a shortage of medical personnel has developed because a large number of medical workers are infected with coronavirus infection and are forced to leave on sick leave. In such conditions, the work intensity of doctors, nurses and nurses increases many times over, and they simply cannot withstand such a load.

Health ministers of a number of Russian regions have also already made statements about the catastrophic shortage of doctors.

So, in mid-October, the Minister of Health of the Rostov Region, Tatyana Bykovskaya, reported that regional clinics and hospitals cannot cope with the influx of patients due to the lack of doctors.

According to the regional health minister Svetlana Leontyeva, most often doctors leave because of extremely difficult working conditions. She clarified that instead of 20 patients a day, doctors have to admit 70-80 people.
