OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the West, in an effort to vent its anger at Russia, has clearly lost control of itself.

“The arrogant, exclusivity and permissiveness philosophy of the West, based on a sense of its own superiority, must be put to an end,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.

“I am sure that there will be no clash between Russia and NATO over the events in Ukraine,” the editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, retired colonel Igor Korotchenko, told AN. - We do not expect the armed intervention of the United States and NATO countries in this conflict, and we remember how Biden said that they would not fight for Ukraine. Their main task now is to strengthen the security of the Baltic countries, where an additional US military contingent is being transferred from central Europe. Putin warned that if someone is tempted to interfere in ongoing events, they will receive a response that they have not yet encountered in their history.”

The military specialist believes that this warning is “quite enough”, and they heard us, because “pragmatic” politicians and the military are sitting in Western capitals, who are “capable of calculating” all options. According to the military analyst, a “completely new” historical era has now come, and Putin has made a strategic decision that “radically changes” the existing military-political alignment.

“Firstly, the President of Russia acts on the basis of the logic of protecting the national interests of his country,” continues Korotchenko, “and secondly, by doing so we establish reliable European security and international military-political stability.”

“How long will it be in Ukraine? This is forever,” concludes Igor Korotchenko in a conversation with the “AN”, “that is, Ukraine will now always be a neutral, friendly and non-bloc state, the status of which will be guaranteed by the Russian Federation.”
