OREANDA-NEWS. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that NATO would not interfere in the situation in Ukraine militarily, it would be a mistake. The German leader made the corresponding statement at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, TASS reports.

Scholz stressed that Germany and Israel are in favor of continuing Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.

“Now it is important that diplomacy gets its chance again. We are both equally in favor of making it possible to continue negotiations between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible,” the Chancellor said.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that the United States is not deploying additional troops to Europe in order to fight in Ukraine.

“Let me be clear: our forces are not and will not be involved in a conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine,” the American leader stressed.

He also invited all those present in the hall to "stand up and give an unequivocal signal to the whole world" that "America is on the side of the Ukrainians."

“I want you to know that we will be all right. When the history of this period is written, the war of Russian President Vladimir Putin against Ukraine will weaken Russia, while the rest of the world will come out of it stronger,” Biden said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
