OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has become the favorite for the 2024 presidential race in the United States. American comedian Andy Borowitz writes about this in an article for The New Yorker.

The Institute for Public Opinion Research at the University of Minnesota conducted a poll that showed that the Ukrainian president is the leader in the race for the White House among both Republicans and Democrats.

Zelensky was favored by 51%, incumbent Joe Biden by 23%, Donald Trump by 17%, and Senator Josh Hawley by only 0.5%.

Davis Logsdo, who followed the poll, said that Zelensky's performance as a candidate for the presidency of the United States is the highest that Ukrainian politicians have ever shown. At the same time, the fact that the President of Ukraine was not born in the United States and that he does not speak English fluently is not seen as a significant obstacle.

On March 16, Zelensky spoke in video mode before both houses of the US Congress. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking before the US Congress, announced the need to impose sanctions against all Russian politicians who remain in their posts, TASS reports.

“We propose that the United States impose sanctions on all politicians in the Russian Federation who remain in their posts and will not cut ties with those responsible for the aggression against Ukraine, from members of the State Duma to the very last official,” Zelensky said.

Also, the Head of Ukraine in his speech called on all American companies to leave the Russian market and close American ports for Russian goods.
