OREANDA-NEWS. Italian composer Ennio Morricone died in a hospital in Rome because of complications after the fall. This is reported the newspaper La Repubblica. A few days ago, 91 years old musician broke a femoral bone.

Ennio Morricone was born in 1928 in Rome. He studied at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia and received a diploma in three classes at once: trumpet, instrumentation and composition.

He began writing music for movies and making arrangements at the age of 33. The composer is an author of soundtracks to dozens of films, including A Fistful of Dollars, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once upon a Time in the West, The Legend of 1900, The Professional, Django Unchained.

Ennio Morricone is the winner of two Oscars. In 2007, he received a honorary award for outstanding merit in cinema, and in 2016 for the best music for the film The Hateful Eight. The composer became the winner of the Golden Globe three times and the BAFTA Award six times.
