OREANDA-NEWS  Publishing houses have noted an increase in the number of domestic writers. For example, in 2021, MIF had 20% of Russian authors, and in 2023 it already had half of the portfolio. The library of the Eksmo-AST publishing group consists of 80% national authors, the publishing house of religious literature Nikea produces 90% of Russian-speaking writers. There are more of them in children's and youth literature — all the experts interviewed by Izvestia are united in this.

As Olga Kiselyova, the head of the editorial groups of MIF, told Izvestia, if in 2021 the number of Russian authors in the publishing house MIF reached 20% of the entire catalog, then in 2022 it increased to 30%, and in 2023 to 50%.

At the same time, according to her, in 2021 there were no Russian—speaking authors in the fiction segment of the MYTH, and today half of the portfolio is hudlit.

The press service of the Azbuka-Atticus publishing house told Izvestia that the share of Russian authors in the publishing house's portfolio has been consistently growing since 2021. If we talk about the monetary ratio, then in 2021 the share of sales was 17%, in 2022 it was 17.5%, and in 2023 it was already 22%. In quantitative terms, the growth is also obvious: 28% in 2021, 29% in 2022 and 30% in 2023. The Nikea Publishing House, which specializes in religious literature, notes that the publishing portfolio in 2023 consists of more than 90% of books by Russian authors.

Oleg Filippov, CEO of the Polyandria publishing house, told Izvestia that although less than 10% of national authors are in their portfolio today, the percentage has increased significantly between 2021 and 2023. And this is provided that, for example, the publishing house NoAge, which is part of Polyandria, does not specialize in Russian literature.

According to the publishing houses surveyed by Izvestia, the largest increase in domestic authors is observed in the categories of literature for children and young adult.
