OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 April 2009 was announced, that Czech Vice Prime Minister Alxander Vondra said his country stands ready to take bilateral cooperation "to a qualitatively new level in accordance with modern requirements" during a meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on 23 April.

The Czech Vice Prime Minister arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the international conference on reliable transit of energy. He said Prague would host big energy forum in May, "that is why one of the purposes of his visit is to learn the experience of arranging such high level forums."

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects and possibilities of building up comprehensive cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral format, first of all within the framework of EU currently chaired by the Czech Republic. In particular, the sides looked at cooperation in the energy sphere.
