OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2009. On November 10, Viktor Tolokonsky, Governor of Novosibirsk region, and Ivan Dadykin, General Director of Sibirtelecom OJSC, made an agreement on interaction and cooperation in providing safe operation and stable development of infotelecommunication infrastructure in Novosibirsk region. The Head of the region and the Director of the telecommunication company had a business meeting in the Communication Museum of Siberia, which symbolically emphasized a connecting link between the communication history and new high-technology services that are provided in Novosibirsk and the region today.   

The aim of the strategic cooperation between the region administration and Sibirtelecom under the Agreement is to develop the telecommunication infrastructure of Novosibirsk region, to implement new services for the population and   to support national projects and state programs, such as “Universal Communication Service”, “Education”, “Electronic Russia”, etc.

“We set the main goal in cooperation with the Novosibirsk region administration: to develop regional infrastructure of the network and to make modern communication services more available for the population of Novosibirsk and the region,” said Ivan Dadykin, General Director of Sibirtelcom OJSC. “Today the rate of technical innovations is very high, and the range of communication services increases from day to day. All these changes are sure to provide new life quality of Siberians.  The telecommunication sphere is the basis for the technical progress and the development of other industries, and jointly with the Novosibirsk region administration we are doing our best for the modern network infrastructure of the region allowed us to provide great possibilities to people and organizations for the work, business, studies, and comfortable life.”

During the business meeting Novosibirsk region Governor Viktor Tolokonsky was shown the exhibits of the Communication Museum of Siberia from the first telegraph that appeared in Novosibirsk in 1898 and the manual telephone system (founded in 1906) to the modern digital exchanges that are widely used today by the telecom operator.  The Company specialists demonstrated the possibilities of videoconferencing and videomonitoring, IP-TV digital television, and the new services of the data- and call-centers. It was November 10, that Sibirtelecom launched into operation the single call-center of the Company that will improve service and increase efficiency of servicing the subscribers of call-centers.  We should mention that the first information desk, the predecessor of “09 service” was established 80 years ago in 1929.

Passing from the communication history to the present, General Director of Sibirtelecom OJSC stated the Company’s plans for 2010. Next year Sibirtelecom plans to invest over 1.7 bln rubles to the telecommunication infrastructure of Novosibirsk Region. The main amount of the investments will be spent for the development of Webstream high-speed Internet access using the ETTH technology and GPON, as well as for the installation of telephones in new building, and services of multichannel digital IP-TV television. Next year the Company plans to construct a FTTX optical network for more than 100 thousand ports.
