OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2009. In November, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) increased volumes of gas export from the country by 12.1% against October when export rose by 32.48% compared with September of the year.

The Company informs that this November gas export totaled 93.3 million cu m versus 83.2 million cu m in October, 62.8 million cu m in September, 53.75 million cu m in August, 40.85 million cu m in July, 41.83 million cu m in June, 50.86 million cu m in May, 100.69 million cu m in April, 90.65 million cu m in March, 99.45 million cu m in February, 167.32 million cu m in January 2009 and 178.45 million cu m in December 2008.

For Jan-Nov 2009 it was exported 884.78 million cu m 818.93 million cu m in 2008.

Since 1st September 2008 SOCAR stops indicating its export partners, but for seven months of 2008 it exported gas to Iran (for NICO) and Georgia (Neftegaz LLC and SOCAR Georgia Gaz).

In 2009, Georgia will remain the main destination for export gas of SOCAR where the latter bought 22 gas distribution networks (demand for gas is on the level of 300-400 million cu m). At the same time, approximately 700 million cu m can also be sold to Georgia.

Besides direct sales to Georgia, SOCAR also supplies gas for retail gas-distribution networks in Georgia managed by SOCAR subsidiary.
