OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2010. Seven-month cargo volume handled by the state-run Odessa Commercial Sea Port (OCSP, Ukraine) shrank by 10.2% year-over-year, to 14 million 474.1 thousand tons, the OCSP’s press release said.

January-July, the company transshipped 7,873.400 tons of dry cargo, 16% down from Jan-Jul, 2009, and 6.6 million tons of bulk cargo (-2,2%).

Container throughput surged by 42% in the reporting period to 189,839 TEUs.

The state-owned Odessa Commercial Sea Port is one of the largest ports of the Black Sea-Azov Basin. The OCSP’s facilities allow the stevedore to handle more than 14 million tons of dry cargoes and 14 million tons of oil products annually. Last year’s throughput of the Company dropped by 19% year-over-year, to 28.007 million tons.
