OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2011. The Cherepovets Steel Mill (“CherMK”), part of the Russian Steel Division of Severstal, one of the world’s leading steel and mining companies, successfully passed a recertification audit of its Quality Management System in compliance with International Standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009.

According to A. Lutsenko, Production Director and Chief Engineer of CherMK, representatives of LRQA conducted a two-week audit of all the CherMK business units involved in the implementation of the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009 standards, namely the Sales, Production and Technical, Commercial, Finance and Economics, and Personnel departments.

Previous recertification processes also involved auditing remote Severstal CherMK facilities in Kolpino, and consignment warehouses in Nizhny Novgorod, Togliatti and Ulyanovsk.

Based on the results of the audit it was concluded that the plant’s quality management system complies with standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009 and the company received a renewal certificate valid for the next three years.
