OREANDA-NEWS. August 31, 2011. The Government will continue negotiations with the Russia on review of gas agreements of 2009 year. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov informed about it during a working trip to the Kharkiv region.

In particular, answering a question of journalists whether Ukraine is measured to address to international judicial instances for cancellation of gas agreements, the Prime Minister had informed, that Ukraine would continue negotiations with the Russia for acceptance of the mutually advantageous decision on review of these contracts. "Any disputed subject matter, in this case gas topic, does not assist progress of the Ukrainian-Russian attitudes. Therefore let's reduce zone of the conflict, work persistently with our counterparts and find these decisions. Various hypothetical conditions exist, but I once again emphasize, that we supporters of normal negotiating process on conditions of equality, on conditions of respect, on conditions of that our partners would listen our arguments. And we have serious arguments", - Mykola Azarov informed.

Thus he emphasized that there are greater cooperation and trading communications between Ukraine and Russia in which is a huge potential and consequently so we have to do all to support progress of mutual relations and to minimize disputed situations.

At the same time the Prime Minister once again emphasized, that existing gas contracts were discrimination and unfair for Ukraine, and the Government would continue negotiations with the Russian side on their review.

Besides, Mykola Azarov added that these agreements and recovery of the price for the Russian natural gas for Ukraine had lay negative trade and economic balance of external balance of Ukraine. "How can we liquidate this negative imbalance? First of all, we should agree with Russia about review of gas agreements. And the second - to realize the serious greater program - decrease in consumption of gas", - the Prime Minister emphasized.

Also during a meeting of the Prime minister with an economic active of Kharkiv Mykola Azarov informed that in the nearest years Ukraine in three times will reduce purchases of the Russian natural gas. "We put before ourselves very arrogant task - within several years to reduce volumes of gas, which we buy in Russia, in three times", - Mykola Azarov noted.

The Prime Minister emphasized, that the indispensability of reduction of deliveries of the Russian natural gas is connected with high price for the Russian hydrocarbons. "To heat with coal now is much cheaper, than to heat gas ", - The Prime Minister noted.
