OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2012. Belarus’ Grodno-based Neman tobacco factory increased cigarette output 19% on the year in January-July 2012 to 15.2 billion units, a Neman administration representative told reporters.

Production under contracts with British-American Tobacco Trading Company reached 2.99 billion units, up 19.4%.

Production under contracts with Japan Tobacco International amounted to 320 million units, up 39%; Tobacco International Enterprises Ltd – 0.05 billion units, down 61.7%.

For the home market the company produced 15.02 billion units, up 18.6%.

Cigarette exports totalled 330 million units (up 120%) to the tune of USD 3 million (up twofold).

The company exports its products to Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and the Middle East.

Neman was founded in 1861 and transformed into a joint-stock company with all shares controlled by the state in December 2007.
