OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2012. Co-Chairman of All-Russia Business Association “Delovaya Rossiya” (“Business Russia”), Alexey Repik, attended the 10-th meeting of the Russia-Japan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economy headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation, Igor Shuvalov and the Foreign Minister of Japan, Koichiro Gemba. The discussion covered a wide array of aspects of bilateral economic cooperation between Russia and Japan. Special attention was paid to healthcare, innovations, agriculture, car manufacturing and power industry. Alexey Repik, Co-Chairman of All-Russia Business Association “Delovaya Rossiya” (“Business Russia”) and Chairman of the Board “R-Pharm”, took part in the ceremony of signing a cooperation memorandum between “Delovaya Rossiya” and the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and CIS (ROTOBO). Making a greeting speech Alexey Repik highlighted the importance of ROTOBO’s contribution into development of cooperation between the countries and the demand for reliable foreign partners for establishing successful joint projects. The Co-Chairman also expressed his hope for a successful cooperation between the two associations in establishing business relationships.

The agenda of second day, November 21, included the XIII joint session of the Russia-Japan and Japan-Russia Committees on economic cooperation. The participants expressed interest in business cooperation in the areas of manufacturing, power industry, infrastructure and natural resources. Also, attention was paid to the development of contemporary nano- and bio- technologies, banking and financing industries.

Alexey Repik took part in the discussion and presented a report on “Development of partnership between Russia and Japan in the areas of hi-tech and innovations” during the XIII joint session of the Russia-Japan and Japan-Russia Committees on economic cooperation. He highlighted the importance of establishing direct relationships between Russian and Japanese companies for the benefits of scientific, technical, investment and trade cooperation. His report showed the importance of high-tech industries, educational and staff training systems and joint R&D centers.

The cooperation between Russian and Japanese universities is very important for the development of educational and staff training projects. This cooperation may include inter-university programs, student exchange and integration of Japanese educational best practices into Russian syllabuses. Establishing of joint R&D, technology transfer and educational centers with leading Japanese companies is also very important for hi-tech development and creation of new breakthrough competences. Japan has been holding leading positions in longevity ratings for several decades. That’s why life sciences should be considered as important areas of bilateral cooperation.

R-Pharm has significant achievements in establishing relationships with Japanese pharmaceutical companies. R-Pharm’s joint projects cover the areas of R&D, technology transfer and manufacturing localization of highly efficient drugs for treatment of socially important diseases. The R-Pharm Group is now working on several agreements with Top-10 Japanese pharmaceutical companies. These agreements will support the development of bilateral economic relationships based on hi-tech and innovations.
