OREANDA-NEWSJapanese concern Nissan filed a civil lawsuit for 10 billion yen (about $ 90 million dollars at the current rate) against its ex-head Carlos Gon. This is stated in a statement published on Wednesday by an automobile company.

It's noted that the lawsuit filed in the District Court of Yokohama, Nissan intends to receive compensation for losses caused by the activities of Gon over the years of his management. Last summer, Nissan already filed a civil lawsuit against Carlos Gon in a lawsuit in the Virgin Islands.

Gon, who has the citizenship of France, Brazil and Lebanon, was arrested by the Tokyo prosecutor on November 19, 2018. According to the investigation, he did not properly declare his remuneration of 9 billion yen (more than $ 80 million), received by him as chairman of the board of directors of Nissan from 2010 to 2018. Other charges have been brought against him. In April last year, Gon was released from prison and sent to house arrest on bail.

At the end of 2019, it became known that Ghon fled from Japan to Lebanon through Turkey. On December 31, he confirmed this information by accusing Japanese justice of injustice and bias. The trial was due to begin this spring. Carlos Ghosn has repeatedly accused Nissan management of conspiring against him. The Japanese automaker rejects these allegations.
