OREANDA-NEWS. ABB will provide the plant of Guodian Nanjing Automation Co., Ltd. (SAC), an affiliate of China’s leading power company China Huadian Corporation, with a microgrid solution. The microgrid will integrate and optimize the 109 kilwatts of energy captured by photovoltaic (PV) solar panels mounted on the roof top of its building and supply power to the office block. An integrated battery based facility will store the energy that is not immediately consumed, for subsequent deployment.

SAC is located in the city of Nanjing, close to China’s Yangtze River and is ideally positioned to absorb a lot of sun through the day. The increased integration of renewable solar energy will not only mitigate environmental impact of alternate fossil fuel based energy but will also contribute to the overall cost optimization of power usage at the facility.

ABB’s modular microgrid solution is designed to optimize and prioritize the use of solar power. It incorporates the ABB AbilityTM based Microgrid Plus control system and energy storage technology.
