OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2016. A Gazprom delegation headed by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee, paid a visit to Austria today.

A working meeting between Alexey Miller and Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern took place in Vienna.

The meeting participants expressed appreciation for Russian-Austrian cooperation in the gas industry. It was highlighted that Gazprom had been a reliable supplier of natural gas to Austrian consumers for 48 years. Austria's demand for Russian gas has increased. In 2015, Russian gas exports to Austria rose 11.5 per cent versus 2014. From January 1 through October 10, 2016, Russian gas supplies to Austria totaled 4.18 billion cubic meters, which was 23.8 per cent higher than in the same period of 2015.

Special attention was given at the meeting to the Nord Stream 2 project, as well as the asset swap between Gazprom and OMV.
