OREANDA-NEWSThe head of the Lukoil oil company, Vagit Alekperov, sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking him to provide the company with access to three subsoil plots in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea for geological exploration. According to the publication, in order to obtain offshore areas, Alekperov suggested using the declarative principle introduced by the Ministry of Nature in 2016, according to which the agency provides a license for the requested site for geological exploration without bidding. At the same time, other companies should not apply for such a site.

The head of Lukoil in a letter also indicated that in the next three years the company plans to drill four exploratory wells and conduct a 3D seismic survey on an area of ​​3 thousand square meters. Currently, the company in the Russian sector of the Caspian is developing only two fields: Filanovsky and Korchagin.
