OREANDA-NEWS. Ruble settlements for gas with Minsk minimize the negative impact of sanctions on Belarus. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, RIA Novosti reports. He stressed that Russia maintains favorable prices for energy resources supplied to the Belarusian domestic market.

The Russian Federation maintains the most favorable prices for oil and gas supplied to Belarus for domestic consumption. At the same time, the calculations for them are translated into Russian rubles. This allows minimizing the negative impact of the external environment on the situation of citizens and industrial enterprises of Belarus,” Putin said.

Also, the Russian leader said at a press conference that Moscow and Minsk had completed the coordination of the project of the united electricity market. He stressed that 30% of the allied programs of the Russian Federation and Belarus out of those scheduled by the end of 2023 have already been implemented.

Alexander Lukashenko, in turn, announced the readiness of Minsk to strengthen unity with the Russian state. According to him, the partnership of the neighboring countries will be ensured in any case, despite the foreign political situation.
