OREANDA-NEWSThe main state expert examination of Russia reviewed the project documentation and the results of engineering surveys for the construction of the Russian part of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, including on the offshore and onshore sections of the route in the Leningrad Region. Based on the results of the state examination, a positive conclusion was issued. This is stated in the message of the department.

Nord Stream 2, a new export gas pipeline from Russia to Europe with a capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year, will pass through the Baltic Sea on the German coast parallel to the existing route of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The Russian part of the route, the draft of which received the positive conclusion of the Chief State Expertise of Russia in 2018, includes an underwater section with a length of about 114 km within the waters of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea and a coastal segment with a length of 3.84 km.

"In 2020, the construction of the Nord Stream-2 is planned to continue, taking into account the introduction of adjustments to the design documentation, approved after a second review by the Chief State Expertise of Russia", the report says.
