OREANDA-NEWS  The price of jet fuel in the European part of Russia has risen to a historic high of 68 thousand rubles per ton. This is evidenced by the data of the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange.

During the auction on Monday, July 4, the price of jet fuel increased by 1.6 percent during the day and amounted to a record 68,322 thousand rubles per ton. At the same time, gasoline Ai-92 fell by 1.7 percent, to 38 thousand rubles per ton, gasoline Ai-95 — by almost 1 percent, to 41.9 thousand rubles per ton. Summer diesel fuel increased in price by 0.1 percent, to 54.44 thousand rubles per ton.

In June, the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) Maxim Shaskolsky called the situation with jet fuel prices in Russia paradoxical. According to him, jet fuel prices are rising despite the decline in demand.

At the same time, Shaskolsky noted that this situation does not currently affect the prices of air tickets. He noted that the current damper mechanism contributes to this, due to which part of the funds are returned to the airlines.
