Imports of passenger cars fell by 24% in 2016
OREANDA-NEWS. Imports of passenger cars fell by 23.7% in Russia by the end of 2016 to 267 thousand vehicles. According to the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia, during the reporting period it was imported cars worth 6 billion 027.4 million dollars in Russia. At the same time from foreign countries it was imported 252.9 thousand cars worth 5 billion 819.6 million dollars, from CIS countries - 14.1 thousand units worth 207.8 million dollars.
Imports of trucks in the last year fell by 9.8% to 20.3 thousand units with total cost of 1 billion 030.6 million dollars. Among them, 16.6 thousand trucks worth 555.6 million dollars were delivered from foreign countries, the rest 3.7 thousand vehicles worth 475.1 million dollars - from the CIS countries.
Exports of passenger cars from Russia fell by 30.2% in 2016 and it was 68 thousand units for a total sum of 1 billion 097.5 million dollars. Therewith, to the foreign countries it was sent 23.4 thousand cars worth 553.3 million dollars, to CIS countries - 44.6 thousand cars worth 544.2 million dollars.
Exports of trucks fell by 28.5% - up to 14.3 thousand cars worth 352.9 million dollars. In the foreign countries it was delivered 6 thousand trucks worth 206 million dollars, to the CIS countries - 8.3 thousand vehicles worth 146.9 million dollars.
