OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2016. SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that Itron Inc., a technology and services company dedicated to the resourceful use of energy and water, has selected the SAP HANA platform to extend the value of its Active Grid solutions.

By running its meter data management solution on SAP’s digital core, Itron will help utilities drive operational efficiency and customer engagement, enabling them to achieve success at remarkable speed and scale. The announcement was made at the ninth annual SAP for Utilities conference, being held October 9–12 in Huntington Beach, California.

Itron’s customers will have real-time access to collected data with SAP HANA, allowing utilities quicker and more efficient insights into their systems. Rich data stemming from Itron’s industry solutions on SAP HANA will help utilities improve consumer engagement, create new rates and tariffs, and enhance revenue protection as well as grid awareness.
