Russians are Warned about Overcrowding in Black Sea Resorts
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Black Sea resorts are loaded to the maximum, said the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova in an interview with Izvestia.
The reason for this excitement was the restriction of air traffic with other countries due to the coronavirus, as well as the lack of modern hotels, she said. Because of this, in the coming years, they want to significantly increase the number of good hotels, including creating at least 20 thousand rooms in resort and recreational areas.
"Today, for comparison, there are about 60 thousand numbers for the whole country under federal and international brands, and they are located mainly in large cities," Doguzova explained.
The increase in the cost of living in hotels and hotels in Sochi reached 90%, the prices rose most of all in large chain four- and five-star hotels, the director of the department of resorts and tourism of the city administration Svetlana Batyaykina said in May.
Earlier, the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the prices for vacations in the region are "very high." In his opinion, their growth can only be stopped by competition, for the development of which it is necessary to improve the very sphere of sanatorium-resort recreation.
