OREANDA-NEWS. The Cuban Ministry of Tourism has clarified the rules for tourists entering Varadero after the resumption of flights to the main resort of the island from Moscow.

«Upon arrival at Varadero Airport, each visitor will be tested for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 by real-time PCR, which will be sent to the laboratory of molecular biology in the province of Matanzas. Upon arrival at the booked hotel, the visitor puts on a wristband, that identifies him for a day before receiving the test results. At this time, the tourist must observe the established isolation measures, such as wearing masks and social distance in the common areas of hotel facilities», the letter of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba says.

According to the agency, if the result of the PCR test is negative, the tourist can use the services of the resort without restrictions. «If a positive result is obtained for an asymptomatic form of infection, the client moves to a 4* hotel on Varadero (hotel-hospital), which houses medical staff, nurses and medical specialists, as well as the necessary equipment. There, the medical staff will monitor the development of the disease until a second test is carried out and a negative result is obtained. After that, customers will be sent to a reserve hotel to continue their vacation at the resort», the agency said in a statement.

If a tourist shows symptoms of coronavirus when tested positive, they will be referred to a hospital for treatment in accordance with established medical protocols. As follows from the document, that the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba sent to Russian tour operators, travel agencies and airlines, the entry rules will be the same as for the island of Cayo Coco, where planes from Russia fly from November.
