OREANDA-NEWS. As a result of the explosion of a nitrogen tank at a plant in the city of Wichita (Kansas State, USA), 14 people were injured.

Scott Fromm, head of the local fire department, reported to journalists that a large tank with compressed liquid nitrogen exploded. 14 people received injuries of various severity, some of them were delivered to the hospital.

According to him, the two-story factory building from metal structures partially collapsed from the blast wave.

Fromm added that tanks with chemicals still remain in the building, so firefighters are evaluating the possibility of new explosions. The gas pipeline was damaged as a result of the incident, but gas fire was prevented.

According to media reports, the explosion occurred at the plant No. 3 owned by the Beechcraft company, part of Textron Aviation, which produces single- and twin-engine aircrafts.
