“Seventeen Sailors and four civilians are being treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital. All inport ships have been contacted and directed to provide fire parties to possibly assist with firefighting efforts,” the message says.

The incident occurred at a naval base in the city of San Diego on the morning of July 12. According to media, a fire on a warship was preceded by an explosion. At the time of the ignition, there were 160 people on board; they were evacuated.

Two fire brigades trying to get to the source of ignition are on board. The US Navy representatives informed that the cause of the fire has not yet been established.
